Amazing unagi especially on a chill day!! We didn't make a reservation, so we had to wait for around 40 mins. The wait for the food was a bit long (around 30 mins), but it was worth it!! Got the regular portion of rice which was very generous. Ordered the deluxe option which came with 5 pieces of unagi, grilled to perfection! Broth tasted clean and complemented the meal very well. They provided a nice baby seat for my baby under 1 year old, which we really appreciated.

We had the best unagi ever last night at @shibafukuya.unagika in Nagoya. It’s a small cosy joint but it’s sooo popular especially since it’s only open for 3 hours for dinner. The eel was well grilled with just the right char. The rice was cooked to the right softness too! Everything just goes so well together.

We walked past the restaurant. The entrance was very unassuming. Glad we found the place Impressive unagi. Crisp outside, soft and fragrant meat. The Eel bones were a delicacy. Nice and crunchy , great with beer Wish my stomach could accommodate more

Fresh well cooked unagi. Super yum, not fishy at all. I got the combo which allows you to taste the plain grilled one and the unagidon. Order the unagi bones! Very tasty

v good unagi. can taste the char. skin is crisped and flesh is tender and u can barely even feel the soft bones the glaze is nice reservation is recommended. saw a long line of ppl queuing during peak lunch hour even w an advanced booking, the wait for food after being seated was quite long - 30 min nagoya is the birthplace of unagi - i think, so u should def make a trip

Grilled eel very well done with just right level of charring n sweet secret sauce making outside esp skin crispy and soft inside. Rice bit on firm side but this is subjective. One of best grilled unagi for me. Also has chicken from owners home town in nagoya prefecture. Small place in back street 2 levels dining crowded sitting n busy so booking advised.

The food was great. The Eel was so tender and the chicken dish was also very good. I love the presentation and everything. You can order on the iPad but it's all in japanese but Google translate helps plus the English menu they give you.

You’ve got two layers of dry charcoaled grilled eel on rice! The sauce is not too sweet, and you get to choose the quality of rice to eat with the eel. Perfect!! Best eel rice experience so far in Japan.
